$(- 18 - 9 x + 7 x^{2}) \div (x - 2)$

Steps:
1) rearrange the polynomial from highest power to lowest power.
2) Multiply $(x - 2)$ with $7 x$ , to get $7 x^{2}$ , Remainder $= 5 x - 18$
3) Multiply $(x - 2)$ with $5$ , to get $5 x - 18$ , Remainder $= - 8$
Quotioent $= 7 x + 5$ , Remainder $= - 8$
