Find the ratio in the following statement.

Out of total 36 fruits in a basket, 14 are apples, 16 are oranges and the remaining are pineapples.

Find the ratio of the number of apples to the number of oranges.

Given , total number of fruits in a basket = 36,

number of apples =14

number of oranges =16

number of pineapples =36-14-16=6

the ratio of the number of apples to the number of oranges is 14:16=1416=14÷216÷2=78=7:8

Hence, the ratio of the number of apples to the number of oranges is 7:8.
