Find the ratio in the following statement.

Out of total 36 fruits in a basket, 14 are apples, 16 are oranges and the remaining are pineapples.

Find the ratio of the number of apples to the number of fruits in the basket.

Given , total number of fruits in a basket = 36,

number of apples =14

number of oranges =16

number of pineapples =36-14-16=6

the ratio of the number of apples to the number of fruits in the basket is 14:36=1436=14÷236÷2=718=7:18

Hence, the ratio of the number of apples to the number of fruits in the basket is 7:18.
