The co-ordinates of any point on the line joining the two points are (3λ−2λ+1,−5λ+4λ+1,8λ+7λ+1) If the point is in the yz - plane, then its x-coordinate should be zero. ∴3λ−2λ+1=0 or 3λ−2=0
∴λ=23. Hence, the required ratio is 2:3 and putting λ=23, the required point is (0,25,375).
