Find the ratio of angular speeds of minute hand and hour hand of a watch and also find the angular speed of the seconds hand in watch.

Solution

The angular displacement of hour hand in one hour = 5ticks
and the angular displacement of minute hand=60ticks
Hence the ratio of angular speeds=ωhωm=605=12
Thus the angular speed of the seconds hand=2π60=π30=0.10472rad/s
