We have,
$\begin{array}{rcl} R a t i o o f 40 cm to 1.5 m & = & \frac{40}{1.5 \times 100} [∵ 1 m = 100 cm] \\ = & \frac{40}{150} \\ Dividing numerator and denominator by their HCF i . e . 10 \\ = & \frac{4}{15} \\ = & 4 : 15 \end{array}$
Hence, ratio of $40 cm to 1.5 m$ is $4 : 15$
