Cost of $1 k g$ tea $= R s . 160$
Cost of $100 g$ coffee $= R s 120$
Cost of $1$ gram coffee $= R s \frac{120}{100}$
Rate of $1000 g$ coffee $= \frac{120}{100} \times 1000 = R s 1200$ $[∵ 1 k g = 1000 g]$
Rate of $1 k g$ coffee $= R s 1200$
The ratio of the price of the coffee to that of the tea $= \frac{C o s t o f C o f f e e}{C o s t o f t e a}$
$= \frac{1200}{160} = \frac{\overset{15}{1200}}{\underset{2}{160}}$
$= \frac{15}{2}$
$∴$ The ratio of the price of the coffee to that of the tea $= 1 5 : 2$
Hence the ratio of the price of the coffee to that of the tea is $15 : 2 .$
