As we know that the spring balance reads the value of spring force kx
So, from the FBDs we have
N=2.5gcos37
and, kx=Ncos53=(2.5gcos37).cos53
kx=2.5×10×45×35
kx=12 N
Thus, the equivalent mass shown by spring balance is
