Find the roots of each of the following equations, if they exist, by applying the quadratic formula:

2x2+53x+6=0

The given equation is 2x2+53x+6=0.

Comparing it with ax2+bx+c=0, we get

a = 2, b = 53 and c = 6

∴ Discriminant, D = b2-4ac=532-4×2×6=75-48=27>0

So, the given equation has real roots.

Now, D=27=33

α=-b+D2a=-53+332×2=-234=-32β=-b-D2a=-53-332×2=-834=-23

Hence, -32 and -23 are the roots of the given equation.
