Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Estimate the value of a,b and c

Given equation is,

1x-1x-2=3

x-2-xxx-2=3

3x2-2x=-2

3x2-6x+2=0

According to the Sridharacharya formula, for a given equation ax2+bx+c, the roots of this equation is given by

x=-b±b2-4ac2a

From the given equation we have,

a=3,b=-6,c=2

Step 2: Determine the roots of the equation

The roots of the equation are,

x=--6±-62-4×3×22×3

=6±36-246

=6±236

=3±333

=3±13

=1+13,1-13

Hence, the roots of the given equation are 1+13 and 1-13.
