$2 x^{2} - 5 x - 3 = 0$
$2 x^{2} - 6 x + x - 3 = 0$
$2 x (x - 3) + 1 (x - 3) = 0$
$(x - 3) (2 x + 1) = 0$
$x = 3, - \frac{1}{2}$
