Solution

The correct option is A

52 and – 2

On multiplying 2 with 52 we get 10.
We need a pair of numbers such that their sum gives 7 and product gives 10.

product : 2×5 = 10 sum : 2+ 5 = 7

So the required pair is 2 and 5.

Now, 2x2+7x+52

2 x2 + 5x + 2x + 52 = 0

x (2x + 5) + 2(2x + 5) = 0

(2x + 5)(x + 2) = 0

2x + 5 = 0 or x + 2 = 0

i,e. x = 52 or x = –2

52 and – 2 are the roots of given quadratic equation.
