The correct option is D−5 only Given, xx+1+8x−2=3(x+1)(x−2)
Cross multiplying ⇒(x−2)x+8(x+1)(x+1)(x−2)=3(x+1)(x−2) ⇒x2−2x+8x+8=3 ⇒x2+6x+5=0 On factoring, we get x2+x+5x+5 =x(x+1)+x(x+1) ∴x+1=0,x+5=0 x=−1 and −5.
