There are 12 hours on a clock. When the hour hand completes one revolution (to complete one circle) it covers 360 degrees. Therefore to move from 12 o’clock to 1 o’clock it travels 360/12 = 30

Also, since the hour hand is in between 4 and 5 on the clock, there's an additional 15 between the hands. Hence, the angle between the hands is 45.
