Given , the linear equation is $y + 8 = 11____________(1)$
Subtracting $- 8$ on the both side of the given equation , we get
$\Rightarrow x + 8 + (- 8) = 11 + (- 8)$
$\Rightarrow x + 8 - 8 = 11 - 8$
$\Rightarrow x = 3$
Hence , the required solution of the equation is $x = 3$ .
Check :- Putting $x = 3$ in the given equation $(1)$ ,
LHS $= 3 + 8$
$= 11$
Hence, LHS $=$ RHS $=$ $11$
Hence, solution is verified.
