Solution

The correct option is A

(1, 2)

x+2y=5 ...(1)

7x+3y=13 ...(2)

On multiplying the equation (1) by 7, we get

7x+14y=35 ...(3)

On subtracting equation (2) from (3), we get

11y=22

y=2

On substituting y=2 in equation (1), we get

x+4=5

x=1

x=1 and y=2
