The correct option is D

(8, 1)


x-2y=6….(I)

2x+y=17…(II)

From the equation II, we get, y=17-2x

Substituting this value of y in equation I we get,

x- [2(17-2x)]=6

⇒ x-[34-4x]=6

⇒ 5x= 40

⇒ x=8

Substituting this value of x in equation II we get,

⇒ y=1

Hence the solution is (8, 1)
