Find the square using algebraic identity

We can use the identity (a+b)2=a2+2ab+b2 to find the square of 37.

We can write 37 as (30+7).

Applying the above identity, we get,

=(30+7)2=(30)2+2(30)(7)+(7)2=900+420+49=1369
Hence, the square of 37 is 1369.
