(x + iy)


Let the square root of (x2y2) + 2ixy = a + ib

(x2y2)+2ixy=α+ib

Square on both sides

(x2y2)+2ixy=(a2b2) + 2iab

Compare both the sides we get,

a =±x

b = ±y

So, square root is ±(x + iy).
