Find the sum and product of the roots of the equation $x^2$ – 2x – 15 = 0

$x^2$ – 2x – 15 = 0 ......................... (1)

Comparing (1) with the standard form a$x^2$​ +bx + c = 0​

we have a = 1, b = -2 and c = -15

sum of roots = -b/a = - (-2)/1 =2

product of roots = c/a = -15/1 = -15
