Open in App
Solution

Step 1: Find the radius of the sphere.

Let the radius of the sphere be r and d be the diameter.

Since, r=d2

r=142

r=7cm

Step 2: Find the surface area of the sphere.

Surface area of the sphere of radius r =4πr2

=4×227×72

=616cm2

Hence, surface area of the sphere is 616cm2.
