Find the surface area of a sphere with a diameter of:

(ii) 21cm

Open in App
Solution

Calculate the surface area of sphere.

As we know that,

Surface area of sphere=4πr2

Where r is radius of sphere and π=227

Given that, diameter d=21cm

So that, radius r=212=10.5cm

Surfacearea=4×227×10.52Surfacearea=4×227×110.25Surfacearea=88×15.75Surfacearea=1386cm2

Hence, the surface area of sphere is 1386cm2.
