The correct option is C 18 mg11
The given system can be reframed as shown below as per intercept method

So, we have
a) ..L1+..L2=0
a1ap=0ap=a1(1)

b) ..L3+..L4=0ap+apa2=0
a2=2ap(2)
From (1) and (2) we get,
a2=2a1
From FBDs of the masses we have force equations as

3mgT1=3ma1(3)
T22mg=2ma2=2m(2a1)=4ma1(4)
and T1=2T2(5)
So, from above three equations we have
mg=11ma1 a1=g11
Here, ve sign shows that the assumption that we made about the direction of acceleration of mass 3m is wrong i.e. the mass 3m will move upwards rather than downwards.
