The correct option is C w=g1+3cos2θ
Let the thread make the angle θ with the vertical at time t .
Using the conservation of mechanical energy, Gain in Kinetic energy = Loss in potential energy.
thus, 12mv20=mgLcosθv2=2gLcosθ....(1)
Now the centripetal acceleration at this moment ,an=v2L=2gcosθ
The tangential acceleration at this moment, at=gsinθ
Thus the total acceleration ,w=a2n+a2t=4g2cos2θ+g2sin2θ=g4cos2θ+(1cos2θ)=g3cos2θ+1
