The value of $2 p - 3 q + 4 r - 8 s$ , when $p = 10, q = 8, r = 6$ and $s = 2$

$= 2 \times 10 - 3 \times 8 + 4 \times 6 - 8 \times 2$

$= 20 - 24 + 24 - 16 = 4$
