The correct option is C 2

Adding the digits in ones place column, we get 5 + 8 + 7 = 20, that means 0 in the ones place and carryover 2 to the tens place column.

Now, adding digits in tens place column, we get 3 + 9 + 8 + 2 (carry) = 22, 2 in the tens place [i.e. value of A ] and carryover 2 to the hundreds place column.

Adding digits in hundreds place column, we get [2(carry) + 5 + 6 + 9] = 22, 2 at hundreds place ( which verifies the value of A is 2) and carryover 2 to the thousands place.

So, A = 2.
