$m^{2} - a m + 10 = (m - b) (m - 5)$

$m^{2} - a m + 10 = (m - b) (m - 5)$

or, $m^{2} - a m + 10 = m^{2} - b m - 5 m + 5 b$

or, $m^{2} - a m + 10 = m^{2} - (b + 5) m + 56$

Comparing both sides,

$b + 5 = a - - - (1)$ and $5 b = 10 - - - (2)$

$∴$ From $(2)$ , or, $b = 2$

$2 + 5 = a$

$∴ a = 7$
