Find the value of $$a$$ so that the point $$(3 , a)$$ , lies on the line represented by $$2x-3y=5$$.


Solution

Given $$(3,a)$$ lies on $$2x-3y=5$$, then we'll have,
$$2\times 3-3a=5$$
or, $$6-5=3a$$
or, $$a=\dfrac{1}{3}$$.
