Question
Find the value of k that the quadratic equation
x
2
- 2kx+(7k-12)=0
Open in App
Solution
b^2=4 ac
(-2k)^2 = 4 .1.(7k -12)
4 k^2 = 4(7k-12)
k ^2 = 7k -12
k ^2- 7k +12=0
k^2 -4k -3k +12=0
k (k -4)-3(k-4)=0
(k-4)(k-3)=0
ie k=3,4 ans
hope it helps
