The absolute value of an integer is its numerical value with no regard to its sign .

$\therefore \left|-18\right|=18,\left|-22\right|=22$

If two integers with unlike signs are subtracted then the answer will have a sign of the bigger absolute value.

$\Rightarrow 18-22=-4$

Hence, $\left|-18\right|-\left|-22\right|$$=-4$
