Finding the value of the given expression:

We have to find the absolute value of -5-2

Therefore,

-5-2=(-5)+(-2)=-7

The absolute value of an integer is the numerical value without regard to whether the sign is negative or positive. On a number line it is the distance between the number and zero.

Now, absolute value of (-7) i.e., -7=7

Hence, |-5-2|=7
