$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow -22=5\mathrm{x}-7 \\ \Rightarrow 5\mathrm{x}=-22+7 \\ \Rightarrow 5\mathrm{x}=-15 \\ \Rightarrow \mathrm{x}=-\frac{15}{5} \\ \Rightarrow \mathrm{x}=-3 \end{gathered}$$

We get, $\mathrm{x}=-3$

Hence, the value of $\mathrm{x}$ when $\mathrm{y}=-22$ is $-3$.
