The correct option is C (5, 4)
2x+2y=18 ----- (1)
x+3y=17 ----- (2)
First use formula for cross multiplication method:
xb1c2b2c1=yc1a2a1c2=1a2b2a2b1
So, from equation (1) and (2) we can write the value of a, b and c.
x2×173×18=y18×12×17=12×31×2
x3454=y1834=162

x20=y16=14

x20=14

x=204=5

y16=14

y=164=4
The solution is (5, 4)
