The correct option is C (2,6)
6x+y=18 ....(1)
5x+y=8 ....(2)
First use formula for cross multiplication method:
xb1c2b2c1=yc1a2a1c2=1a2b2a2b1
So, from equation (1) and (2), we can write the value of a,b andc.
Thus x1×222×18=y18×56×22=16×25×1
x2236=y90132=1125
x14=y42=17
x14=17
x=147=2
y42=17
y=427=6
The solution is (2,6).
