Here we have $16:24::6:x$

so, $a=16,b=24,c=6,d=x$

by $eq\left(1\right)$ we have-

$$\begin{gathered} \Rightarrow 16\times x=24\times 6 \\ \Rightarrow 16x=144 \\ \Rightarrow x=\frac{144}{16} \\ \Rightarrow x=9 \end{gathered}$$

Hence for the value of $x=9$ the given $16:24::6:x$ are in proportions.
