Since the numbers $2,x,10\text{and}25$ are in proportion then ,

$\Rightarrow$ $2:x=10:25$

$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{2}{x}=\frac{10}{25}$

$\Rightarrow$ $2\times 25=10\times x$

($\because$ $\text{Product of extremes = Product of means}$)

$\Rightarrow$ $50=10\times x$

$\Rightarrow$$x=\frac{50}{10}$

$\therefore$ $x=5$

Hence , the value of $x$ is $5$.
