The correct option is A $50^{o}$
Given $∠ A B C = y - 5 °$
$∠ A C B = 2 x + 40 °$
$∠ D A C = 2 y - x$
We know $∠ B A C = 180 - ∠ D A C$
$∠ B A C = 180 - (2 y - x)$
$= 180 - 2 y + x$
We know that sum of angles in a triangle = 180°
$∠ A + ∠ B + ∠ C = 180 °$
$y - 5 ° + 2 x + 40 ° + 180 - 2 y + x = 180 °$
$3 x - 5 + 40 ° = y \to (1)$
Given $x = 5$
Put $x = 5$ in (1)
we get $15 - 5 + 40 = y$
$y = 50 °$
