Substituting $a = 2$ , $b = - 3$ and $c = 1$ in the given expression , we get
$a + 2 b - 5 c = 2 + 2 \times (- 3) - 5 \times 1 = 2 - 6 - 5 ∴ (2 \times - 3 = - 6) = 2 - 11 = - 9$
Hence,the value of given expression will be $- 9$ .
