Solution

The correct option is B

A = 6, B = 8, C = 2

Starting from the ones place:

4 6 A

- C B 9
_______

1 7 7 is the same as

1 7 7
+ C B 9
_______

4 6 A

9 + 7 = 16 A = 6 and 1 is carried over.

In the tens place, 7 +1 (carried over )= 8 + B = a number with 6 in its ones place: Now. we know 8 + 8 = 16

B = 8

Hence C = 2
A = 6, B = 8, C = 2
Let us Verify:

4 6 6

- 2 8 9

_______

1 7 7
