Open in App
Solution

x21 is a factor
x21=0
(x+1)(x-1)=0
x+1=0x=1x1=0x=1
-1 & 1 are zeroes
p(x)=x4+px3+2x23x+qp(1)=(1)4+p(1)3+2(1)23(1)+q=01p+2+3+q=0qp+6=0....(1)
p(1)=(1)4+p(1)3+2(1)23(1)+q=0
1+p+2-3+q=0
p+q=0 ...(2)
p=q
Substituting in (1)
q-p+6=0
q+q+6=0
2q=-6
q=-3
p=-q=-(-3)=3
