Solution

The correct option is B 75.43 m2,646,94.2
Let r and R be the inner and outer radius of a circular pond respectively.
Outer circumference of the path =44 m
i.e., 2πR=44
2×227×R=44R=7 m
Inner radius, r=(72)m=5 m
Area of the path =πR2πr2
=π(R2r2)=227(7252)
=227(4925)=227×24=75.43 m2
(ii) Length of courtyard =17 m
Breadth of courtyard =912m=192m
Area of courtyard =Length×Breadth
=17×192=3232m2
Side of each square slab =12m
Area of one square slab =(side)2=12×12=14m2
Required number of square slabs
=Area of courtyardArea of one slab=323214=3232×=646
(iii) Distance travelled by the tip of minute hand in 1 hour= Circumference of the clock
=2πr=2×3.14×15=94.2 cm.
