Find the values of the following polynomial.
$p (x) = 2 x^{4} - 3 x^{3} - 3 x^{2} + 6 x - 2$ , when $x = - 2$

In the given polynomial $p (x) = 2 x^{4} - 3 x^{3} - 3 x^{2} + 6 x - 2$ , substitute $x = - 2$ as shown below:

$p (- 2) = (2 \times (- 2)^{4}) - (3 \times (- 2)^{3}) - (3 \times (- 2)^{2}) + (6 \times (- 2)) - 2 = (2 \times 16) - (3 \times - 8) - (3 \times 4) - 12 - 2$
$= 32 + 24 - 12 - 12 - 2 = 56 - 26 = 30$

Hence, $p (- 2) = 30$ .
