Since, the diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
OA = OC
x + 8 = 16 – x
⇒ x + x = 16 – 8
⇒ 2x = 8
⇒ x = 4 [1 Mark]

Similarly, OB = OD
5y + 4 = 2y + 13
⇒ 3y = 9
⇒ y = 3 [1 Mark]

Hence, x = 4 and y = 3.
