The speed of light in air = c = 3 ×10⁸ m/s

Now,

speed in water = c/RI_water
speed in water = 2.3 × 10⁸m/s

similarly,

speed in benzene = c/RI_benzene
speed in benzene = 6 × 10⁶ m/s

Now,

since, RI_benzene> RI_water , this implies that benzene is optically denser than the water hence a ray coming from water and entering into benzene would bend towards the normal OR, in other words, it will CONVERGE
