Find the volume and surface area of a pyramid with a triangular base with each edge 6 cm and a height of 10 cm. [4 MARKS]

Concept: 1 Mark
Application: 3 Marks

Volume =13×area of base×h

To work out area of base triangle

AB2=6232 (Using Pythagoras Theorem)

AB=27

Volume =13×(12×6×27)×10

=303

=51.96 cm3

Surface area = Area of the base + Area of 3 other Triangles

=93+3(12×6×103)

=106.93 cm2

(Since slant height =103)
