Question

Find the volume of metal used to construct a hollow metallic sphere of internal and external diameters as 10 cm and 13 cm respectively.

Open in App
Solution

Dimensions of the hollow metallic sphere are,
Internal diameter (d)=10 m.

Internal radius (r)=d2=102=5 cm.

External diameter (D)=13 cm.

External radius (R)=D2=132=6.5 cm

Volume of the hollow metallic sphere
=43×π(R3r3)

=43×3.14×((6.5)3(5)3)

=43×3.14×[274.625125]

=4.187×149.625

=626.43 cm3
