Solution: The total work done by a gas when it expands isothermally is given by,

According to question,

So, substituting the value of vf in the equation (1) we get,
W=nRTln4vivi
W=nRTln4
W=1×8.314×310.15×ln4
On solving we get,
W=3574.68J
The closest answer to 3574.62 J is 3573 J.
