Question

Find the X and Y intercepts of 3x + 5y = 15

Open in App
Solution

3x + 5y = 15 ...........(i)

At the X intercept, y = 0

Putting y = 0 in the equation(i), we get

3x = 15

x = 5

Hence, the X intercept is 5

At the Y intercept, x = 0

Putting x = 0 in the equation(i), we get

5y = 15

y = 3

Hence, the Y intercept is 3
