Solution

  • In the given question we have four polynomials where we have to find the zeros of each polynomial.
a. Zero of polynomial 𝑝(𝑥)=3𝑥−2 is
p(x)=3x2=0.
3x=2
x=23
Hence, 23 is the zero of the polynomial p(x)=3x2.

b. Zero of the polynomial 3𝑥 is
p(x)=3x=0.
x=03=0.
Hence, 0 is the zero of 3x.

c. Zero of the polynomial 𝑎𝑥, 𝑎≠0 is
p(x)=ax, where a0.
ax=0
x=0a=0
Hence, 0 is the zero of ax.

d.Zero of the polynomial cx+d,c0,c,d
𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑙 𝑛𝑢𝑚𝑏𝑒𝑟𝑠 is
cx+d,(c0)cx=d.
x=dc.
Hence, dc is the zero of cx+d
