Find the zero of the polynomial in each of the following cases:
(i) p(x) = 3x - 2
(ii) p(x) = 3x
(iii) p(x) = ax, a ≠ 0
(iv) p(x) = cx + d, c ≠ 0, c, d are real numbers.

Solution
(i) 3x−2=0⇒3x=2⇒x=23,so23 is the zero of 3x - 2.
(ii) 3x=0,⇒x=0, so 0 is the zero of 3x.
(iii) ax=0(a≠0)⇒x=0a=0, so, is the zero of ax.
(iv) cx+d=0(c≠0)⇒cx=−d⇒x=−dc,so,−dc is the 0 of cx + d.
